Sugar free Hot Chocolate

Once you’ve tried raw cacao you won’t go back! cacoa

Melted in hot milk (dairy or non-dairy)

it tastes luxuriously rich and creamy, and you

can then sweeten it to your own taste with

whatever you fancy. If you’ve been sugar free for a

long time a tiny amount of sweetener or just the

sweetness from coconut or rice milk will do.

I’m lactose intolerant so I make it with lactose free

milk and a spoonful of Maple or Rice syrup. (hmmmm heaven!)

You can find raw Cacao in most health food shops or online. cacoa2

It can be expensive but a little goes a long way. ‘It’s very intense

in flavour so you’ll only need 1-2 tablespoons of cacoa shavings

or ‘nibs’ in hot milk depending on how chocolatey you like it.

When you give up sugar pretty much every chocolate product

in the supermarkets is a no-no so this is a real treat.

You CAN have your chocolate – and drink it.

Enjoy!
